About DeAnn Hamilton and Tribal Elements
DeAnn Hamilton is a life-long dancer. She was classically trained but also ventured into several ethnic
dance styles. She discovered belly dance in 1982 and never looked back. Since then she has had a love
affair with this body friendly dance form that provides great exercise as well as an
avenue for joyful expression.
In 2003, DeAnn saw inFusion (a Seattle tribal belly dance troupe) perform at Hasani's Hafla in the Tacoma area.
She was smitten and dove into tribal, studying with a passion in Seattle with Sharon Moore, co-director of inFusion.
Knowing that she wanted to bring tribal to the South Sound, she decided to focus on teacher training with
Paulette Rees-Denis, director of Gypsy Caravan in Portland, and became certified through her program in 2005.
In 2008, DeAnn was trained and certified in ATS (American Tribal Style) General Skills with Carolena Nericcio of Fat Chance Belly Dance.
DeAnn continues her education attending tribal workshops throughout the Northwest.
DeAnn is a joyful teacher who encourages her students to learn tribal at their own pace while having a fun time
exercising and making new friends.
Under DeAnn’s direction, Tribal Elements, composed of her Level 3 students, enjoys dancing at local events,
haflas and fairs around the South Sound.
